I would define engagement by how you use your customer base. How are they interacting with you, your brand, and your product? I think that can also be measured by those who are able to understand what you're doing, understand how your product fits into their business, and how your product would be valuable to their business or service. And if your customer base is able to connect the dots on their own accord, then I would classify that as a perfect engagement.

Disengagement I think is a little bit more nuanced. I see it as an area where a customer base who were previously more involved with you and your brand steadily declines.

You may see that there is new engagement coming into your platform, but all those legacy partners that have been with you along the way have dropped off accordingly.
