Julie has such a beautiful heart in this world. Her perspective on life will inspire and ignite you. She transforms the way you think about just by being. Her process around purpose will help you in every aspect of your life.

Most recently Julie joined Facebook’s civil rights team as associate general counsel, civil rights, and product lead. She’s also worked for Airbnb providing legal support for its business in Africa and acting as counsel for the anti-discrimination product, community support and trust and safety teams. Prior to that, Julie held several roles in the administration of former President Barack Obama, both in the White House and the Department of Commerce, leading various manufacturing, domestic and international economic development efforts, after serving as a legal fellow at NASA.

Engagement to me is how do we make sure we are connected. The two C’s Connectivity and Community. Being connected, being in tune with community and being an active participant in designing the life that you want.

I would define disengagement as a time when you were once engaged in community and connected but something has happened to break trust, confidence or clarity. That has allowed you to step out of alignment with the space you were once in.
